December 20th, 2014

December 29th, 2014 - Christmas

Hey! It was so great to talk to you!! i love you so much! it was so great to see all your shining faces!! The time goes by so fast, but i think if we got more time, I would probably get homesick! So I know that the 40 minutes are really the best for us!! It was good seeing you all though!! So this Christmas what we did, was we talked to the family, on Christmas the buses go really slow, so we took a taxi and they are super expensieve!! but we were late so we took one!! So we could talk to our families that much faster!! It was good though!! After we went to the stake center and had food and had activities! We played volleyball and watched How to Train Your Dragon 2, such a great movie! We watched it in Spanish!! Yes I understook most of it!! ha It was a goood movie!! We played volleyball again and then did a tie exchange thing! It was cool! I got a cool tie! Things ended and we got back to our area! This is the best part of the whole Christmas... a Christmas I will never forget! I was praying for an oppurtinity that I could serve my Heavenly Father and do something more! I was praying super hard and on Christmas Eve, we saw a member in our ward named Hermano Cecillio! He is about 70 years old and he lives alone! He's a convert and when he converted his wife left him! It was about 10 years ago!! So we saw him in the street and said hi and what not!! We had the impression to go see him on Christmas so we did!! We got all of our things ready and what not!! We got the new ties and the shoe polish and bought dinner for him and took it to him on Christmas night!! He was all alone and he loved it!! We were going to share a message with him, but he was just talking and talking!! I wondered why and then the spirit hit me!! He just wants to be heard!! So we just listened and we were loving the spirit!! It was an amazing experience...so hard to put into words!!! It was a huge testimony builder that we don't need a huge Christmas to be happy!! My comp has been sick the past couple days, so not much else happened!! Just tons of studying and praying for all you guys!! Love you tons!! Love Ky

December 16th, 2014 - Thanks for the birthday wishes!

Hey! I first want to say thanks to everyone that sent me an email this week!! This email might be a little short because you all sent so many!! Thank you so much! It was a super-fast week here in Victoria! We had three divisions and on one of them I went with the x assistant! He was so great! I learned so much!! The spirit was so strong with him in everything!! I realized how much I can grow and strengthen my testimony because of the Holy Ghost in my life! He helped me to change my studies a little bit so now I’m just going to kill this mission thing!! Maybe! :) It was a good week! Yes it was the first time in my life that it was hot on my birthday!! It was a different birthday for sure!! Serving others on your birthday is exactly what the Lord would want me to be doing on my birthday… I believe! We had changes!!! I’m staying here in my area!! Libertad 2!! My new comp is!!! Elder Cammack! He is from Arizona and was a zone leader last change! He’s a great leader and comp! Ha yes we have the chance to speak English... do we... no!! We hardly ever speak English! Ha but when I have a question or don’t know a word he will tell me! He’s great! He teaches with the Holy Ghost and we already work really well together in the lessons! It will be a good change! For some reason the president is putting the gringos with the gringos!! I’m not sure why but it’s a little bit risky!! Ha we make sure we don’t carry much money!! It will be great to talk to you on Christmas mi familiar!! Thanks again for all of the birthday wishes!! Love you all so much and am praying for you!! Love Ky!!

December 7th, 2014 - Finally got a package!

Hola!!

Happy Birthday Dad!! I love you tons!! The big 48!! Got it right this time!! This week was super-fast and pretty great! We went to Tampico this week for the meeting with the president! We are no longer new missionaries!! Isn’t that nice!! It goes by too fast though! It feels like yesterday that I arrived to Victoria, and next week we have changes so I might leave! So crazy! I love it here and don’t want to change! If it’s the Lord’s will, I will change though! Tampico was good! We had pizza and Subway, and the meeting was good about fully about missionary work! He expects a lot out of us so we need to step up to what he wants! The mission president is going to be a 70! (A general authority) I’m calling it!!

We had a couple good days once we returned from Tampico! I went on divisions and it went alright! One divisions my companion asked a new investigator to be baptized and it scared them! It was so funny!! I saved it... well only one! The other one didn’t want anything! We talked a lot of English, he was American!! He was the one that wanted to talk in English! Not me! I don’t like to speak English because it makes my Spanish a little bit worse every time that I speak English!

We have here a new video for the church! It’s called El as la Dad via! Super great!! Look it up!! We street contact with it! They gave us a ton of cards to give out!! It’s such a spiritual video! Every time you watch it you can feel the spirit! Our investigators are great!! We are working harder than ever!! That means Satan is also!! He works hard also so they don’t make the baptismal covenants also! We have a couple that are struggling to go to church! It seems like every week we have quite a few that go, but they are just random times! To be baptized here they need to have 5 time that they go and only miss once!! It’s hard! They can do it though! I would love to say that this week was super exciting but it wasn’t really too crazy!

It sounds like you all had a good week though! Strat you looked good in the video! Ha Trev watch out for your teeth! They are almost perfect! Houst give a hug to mom for me!! Yes I read the emails!! Ha I loved the Christmas devo! You have it so great there!! Next week I will give you all the details for the skype! I will make one today and then next week times for the skype and the info you need so we can do it!! Dad I love you tons!! When you get a year older so do I! You’re the best ever! Love you guys so much!

Love Ky

I got the Halloween package and the Christmas box...just not my birthday one! They are great! I didn't open the presents though!! not yet!

First Baptisms - November 29th, 2014

Most Beautiful Baptism Picture

December 1st, 2014 - First Baptisms!!

Hey! It was a hard working week this week!! We had a lot of family nights with the members so it was a little difficult to do some of the things we wanted!! It was a good week though! We have a couple new family investigators and they are coming along really quickly!! It's great to see there progression! I'm finally starting to have a relationship with the members! The bad part is, we have transfers in two weeks! Yes on my bday! I'm just praying I don't leave the area!! It was a hard but such a rewarding week here!

We had the baptisms! We had two! Angelica Limas and her son Orlando! They were baptized by the husband, and well the dad!! It was time consuming but so worth it!! So Friday we got everything ready and Saturday we had the service! First went Orlando, then Angelica! After they had a huge hug in the font, Orlando was standing right there and he joined in! It was an amazing spiritual part for me! It kinda reminded me of Joseph Smith and his dad in the river!! It was great!! They are such a great family! I love them tons!!

I was asked about Thanksgiving! We didn't do anything here for Thanksgiving!! It made it easy though, because I forgot what day it was on, and it's hot here so it was just a normal week! I was asked about thanksgiving here, and I told them what we do.. They said, we don't do that here.... maybe because they live meal to meal and don't think about things like that!! Maybe dream but it's not possible for them!! I feel bad from some of them, so I had some elders buy the Idahoan potatoes at Walmart, and in this next week I'm going to give them to some of the families that we are close with and that I know that are struggling!! I love them all so much!!

The Spanish is coming along alright! I push through what I want to say in the bad Spanish that I have, but for the most part they understand! It may take me like 5 times but by the end they have the meaning! This next week we are going to Tampico for a meeting with president again! It's great here and I love serving the Lord!

Hope you all have a great next week!

Love Ky

November 24th, 2014 - 19 Investigators at Church

Hey!

It was one week that I will never forget!! It was such an amazing week!! So first! We have a baptism this coming week!! We have worked super hard with the family and made the dad reactivated and stop smoking and drinking, and now he holds the priesthood! So he can baptize his wife and his son!! So great!! This week, so hopefully this next week they keep strong and make it to Saturday!! It has been such a blessing to see the change in them over this period of 6 weeks and see how their lives are in harmony with the gospel now!! It was not us that changed them though!! It was the spirit that has testified to them!!

We had three divisions this week!! So I went with the zone leader one!! I was expecting him to be way happy and be great in the lessons, but he really wasn't!! I was surprised!! Hopefully when I get to that time in my mission I will be excited and going strong if you know what I mean!! It’s hard to put into words!! Second I went with the other district leader! Super divisions!! He was great!! I loved it! I learned so much!! He was in the rich part of the city!! Some houses are huge here!! Yes, I’m in the poorest part! The people are so much better though!! I love my area!! The third was with Elder Nautu!! He’s from Hawaii!! Great elder!! It was fun to speak English!! Ha my Spanish is coming quickly though!! This week it was grown so much!! It’s not me though!! Only through the help of the Lord am I able to do this!!

So it was a crazy week here with everything!! We were kind of nervous about church with our investigators, so anytime we had a visit, we invited them to church!! We had 19 go to church!!! It was awesome!! I’m not bragging... ha but it was amazing!! In all this greatness that we had, we had to give talks!! We heard about the talks Saturday!! Ha so I talked on repentance!! It is super easy in ingles... but it’s in Spanish!! Ha so I got prepared!! When I gave my talk, I never looked at my piece of paper…gift of tongues!! Who knows if they understood, but I thought I made pretty good sense!

I love it here! We had a great lesson this week with a guy named Caesar!! So we invited him to church and to pray and all that stuff!! We haven’t went to his house yet to ask but he was great and loved church!! The members here are awesome!! Every time they have a new person!! They jump to it!! It was an incredible week!! It sounds like you will be having a good week with Thanksgiving!! Eat a little for me!! I’m gaining weight here!! The pants are getting a little tight!! Ha well some!!

It was a great week! Love you tons!!

Love Ky

November 17th, 2014 - Cold Night

Hey!!

It was a good week this week!! Just a ton of missionary work!! To start off the week we had divisions and it went well!! It was cold and I didn’t bring everything... so I didn’t sleep very well but that’s ok!! With the help of the Lord I really wasn’t that tired the next day!! It’s getting super cold here though and I wanted to buy a heater but we can’t because you can’t trust Mexico and the gas problems!! So I just bundle up in the house!! It works out pretty well though! My comp tries to act like the tough guy... he’s probably going to get sick!! But hopefully he doesn’t!! He’s a great guy!!

We had the district class this week and it was amazing!! Every one of the missionaries are so amazing!! It was so spiritual!! I learned a ton!! It’s crazy how much you can learn from others! I was just taking it all in!! It will be great in the future to have those every week!! Since my comp is district leader, we will have divisions a ton!! This next week we will have it three times! It sounds kind of different, but I think it will be good! Learning from others!

We have a couple great investigators!! One has been to church 5 times, without the missionary discussions, in a different ward!! So we are teaching him now!! He just needs to go to church in our ward and he can be baptized!! It’s in 3 weeks! It was a heart breaker this week!! We were going to have a baptism this coming Sunday, but the family went to this fair to make money!! When I say make money!! It’s living day to day!! Maybe 200 pesos!! So they didn’t go to church!! It was sad! It was the first time they faulted though so they can go this coming week and in the following week they can be baptized!! We have worked hard with them because there Dad was inactive so got him activated and now he can receive the priesthood and baptize his family, it’s pretty awesome!! It’s amazing to see the changes in people’s lives!! We have some people we are teaching and it’s a total change!

The gospel is really the most amazing and true thing in the world! I love this gospel! This week we had the opportunity to have a one on one meeting with the president!! It was good to talk to him! He is like my dad in the mission!! He really does love us and you can feel it!! He is a great guy!! Mom!! He only has 6 months left!! So I will have two!! Ha I thought I would only have one!! But I guess not!! The new one will be called of God, so it’s the same! Just different people! It was really a good week here!!

I love you all so much and pray for you every personal prayer I have!! Have a great next week!!

First trip to Walmart/6 weeks in Mexico - November 10th, 2014

Hola!! It was a great week here in Victoria!! It was a cold one also!! We had a couple days here where it got super cold!! It’s a little different than in the states also! You don’t have a nice warm house to go to!! It’s all cold!! I bundle up and made it through! It will be a cold winter when it hits though! Today I called president and asked for permission to go to Walmart and buy the various things, so we did!! It was nice to go there!! They have it all!! Cold showers are that much harder when you have weather that’s cold also!! Ha especially in the mornings!! I love it here though! We had the changes this week and I’m still with my comp and I love it!! He was made district leader and we have 10 elders in our district! Yah it’s a big district! We have some amazing elders! One that was the assistant!! So it will be good and I will learn a ton!! My comp! Mom you said I don’t say much about him, ha so here I go!! So he is from Vera Cruz Mexico... he’s Mexican... but acts likes his from America!! He is great!! We have our hard days with each other, but we always seem to talk it out and figure out how we can make it better!! He loves to talk in the lessons, so I’m trying to simmer that down a little and have me talk a little bit more!! Just to help my Spanish out!! Ha I know what I say is wrong most of the time... but I need to try at least to get better! He loves to cook!! Ha so he is always making something Mexican!! I always make my American things! Pancakes!! They are my favorite!! I was terrible at first... but now they are looking pretty good and tasting great! I just eat things like that... and this week... Idahoan!! YES I bought them!! I saw them and had to buy them at Walmart!! Ha-ha it’s great!! I took pictures for you Dad!! Baby reds aren’t there... work on that... because they are my favorite!! Ha-ha they should be great! It seemed like our investigators were having problems this week!! With all sorts of things!! It was good to work through things with them, but it was hard and hopefully they keep all of then commitments they have made! My comp is really good at loving the people and helping them!! I don’t know any of the Spanish words they say because they aren’t the gospel... so he does it! I just come in when I can!! Not very often! But it was good!! To help them out!! I love serving the Lord! Spanish is coming slowly but everyday un poco mejor! ha I love you guys so much and hope you have a great next week!! Good luck at tryouts Strat!! You’re going to kill it! November 3rd, 2014 - Crazy Halloween!

Hey!!

It was a crazy week here in Victoria!! We had a church event on Tuesday and it went by super fast. We had some investigators go so it was great to have them there! They loved it!! On Wednesday we traveled to Tampico for a meeting with president!! All of the new missionaries all went so it was pretty good!! We went Wednesday and got there late, so we had pizza waiting for us, and we just went to a house and ate with a ton of missionaries and went to bed!! ha the pizza was pretty great!! On Thursday we had the meeting and it wasn't really too crazy! We just talked with president about life in Mexico! It was good to talk to him and the others because we are all going thru the same things! It lasted about 4 hours and we finished! We had subway for lunch!! It was great!! ha so many American things!! We missed our bus back to Victoria so we had to wait a couple hours and got back late so we couldn't do any tracking!

Friday was Halloween!! Happy Halloween! ha well past!! Here.... it's real life!! ha all of the kids rather than dressing up, just gang up with each other and fight other kids!! ha it was kinda scary! A couple times we had to walk past them, so we just looked down and walked super fast!! They all started yelling at us, but we just booked it!! It was fun to see the various kids costumes, but not much trick or treating goes on!! Just the dressing up part!! The big holiday here is day of the dead!! It lasted Saturday and Sunday!! So they make food!! tamales, and have there little worshiping thing and say there catholic prayers all night!!

This week was kinda hard with all of that going on, because when we would go over they would be busy!! Our investigators wouldn't participate in these activities, but the families live together, so the grandparents would be doing it and we couldn't come over!! They didn't want us!!

It was a good/ hard week!! The two families that are perfect just don't have the money for marriage so they can get baptized. They got a little help from the church!! The church is paying for them so we might have a baptism in 2 weeks!! Family Eguia!! There are three that can be baptized!! I so pray from them!! They have a little bit of trials, but hopefully they can make it through and be baptized!! They are great! I love them!!

It was a great week here even though hard!! My comp is hard working!! I sent letters home!! You might get them when I get home from my mission, haha hopefully not, but I did send them!! ha I love you guys!! I haven't gotten anything yet!! but hopefully soon!! I love you all!!

People I Love! - October 27th, 2014

Hey!!

This week was pretty great!! It seemed like we were always going out of our area which means we weren't doing missionary work!! ha We had to go do different things, but the week was still pretty great!

We have a couple different areas in this area, cause its huge, but one is super dangerous at night! My Comp even was scared, so we grabbed rocks and such and were ready for battle!! ha but nothing happened! We have the Lord on our side and we were kept safe!

We have a couple new investigators that I think are pretty amazing!! They are ready for baptism!! Well not quite, but getting ready!! We are just teaching the gospel lessons to them and answering there questions!! They are wonderful!! They went to church, remember we met them this week, and they loved it!! One just broke down because she felt the spirit and it was a great moment!! I love bringing this happiness to people, even when they aren't looking for it!! We have this family that is kinda stagnit and doesn't really want to go to church! so I made a deal with them!! They have this super hot pepper here!! ha so I said to them, if you go to church I will eat it, but if you don't(4 of them) then you all have to eat it!! They said ok, but didn't come to church!! So they will pay the price and come to church next week with a new deal I make up!! haha It's fun! ha but in the end they will feel the spirit!!

The gift of tongues is so real!! We were teaching one of the sisters, and once we finished a guy called us over to come talk to him!! He just broke down and told us all of his problems and was asking for our help!! So we helped him out and got everything figured out!! It was great, but at the end my comp asked me to the say the prayer!! We asked what he wanted in the prayer, so I was like oh crap!! but I started the prayer and it was such a weird feeling!! I felt like I was out of my body saying the prayer!! The words just came and I said the prayer!! My comp said after that my prayer was perfect Spanish and I can't remember the way I put the words and such!! It was weird but amazing at the same time!! It's hard to explain but such a great moment in my life with one of the gifts of the spirit!! I love serving the Lord!! He is our savior and Redeemer of the world!! We need to rely on him every day and deepen our conversions everyday!! It was a wonderful week and I love you guys!!

You are all in my prayers and hope you have a great next week!! I love you all!

Week 3 - October 20th, 2014

Hey!!

It was a great week here in Victoria!! So on Tuesday we got invited to all leadership meeting with President Jordan!! Not sure why but it was great and I sat by president and his wife!! We have a great relationship now!! He’s a great guy and leader of this mission!! Everyone was asking us why we were there, but we didn’t even know, so we just said we were invited!! It was a great meeting on the Holy Ghost!!

My Spanish still struggles, but it gets better every day... a little bit every day! I’m just trying to be confident with it!! It’s a good thing is I can learn something every day! Ha-ha that’s kind of nice! We had a great week! We had 10 investigators come to sacrament meeting!! I loved it!! I’m so excited for them!! It makes me so happy when they say they have prayed, and they know the libro de Mormon is true and want to learn more and prepare for baptism!! They will just need to keep going to church though!! Which I think they will!! Well I pray for it to happen, I guess we will just see though!

So it was a pretty calm week, until yesterday it rained and rained and today also!! ha but yesterday it rained a ton so I had my umbrella and it kind of stopped so I had it down and we went to a members house and we were waiting for him to come out but in the mean time we were talking to his son! They have a super mean dog, pit bull well probably all types of dog, but mainly a pit bull! Ha so I was messing with it and I would shoot it out and have it right in front of his face and he would try to bite it... it was fun!! Ha but we were talking and I was trying to talk to the kid, and I looked at the dog and shot it out again... and I guess I got a little to close... the dog grabbed it and the tug of war was on!! Ha well I would love to say that Kylund won, and the umbrella made it out safely, but I didn’t win!! Ha the umbrella part broke off and the dog shred it to pieces... all I had was the stick!! Ha so at the store today I bought a new one!! 50 pesos!! Like 4 $ ha-ha kind of fun!! I am careful with dogs though!! If they act up, I act like have a rock!! They run so that’s nice!! It was a good week though!

We worked hard, but we can work harder this next week!! I love doing the Lord’s work!! Sounds like you had a great week at home!! Miss you all so much!! Love you tons!

Te ammo, Elder Facer (KY)

P.S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok so I talked to Sister Jordan!! She said if you want Packages for Christmas, and in my case birthday also!! Send them in this next week!!!! So hurry!!! Mom!! It would be nice to have some more face wash!! Just in case mine runs out!!! Dad!! Shoe polish!! I have to polish my shoes every day!! I feel your pain when shoes get dirty!! Well in my case, they last like 10 minutes!! Ha-ha and Chap Stick and whatever else you want to put in there!! So sister Jordan said, put all the stuff in rubbermaid, because the rats and different insects don’t like to chew through it!! I love you all so much!! Have a great week!!

Week Two in Victoria - October 13th, 2014

Hey everyone,

It’s great here! I’m finally adjusted and now I just need to work on the Spanish!! It’s coming quickly, but still nobody can understand me!! We may have the poorest area here, but the people are the best!! So loving and nice!! I finally understand Victoria and so it makes it that much easier!

The heat! It’s way hot!! It’s has started to cool off a little, so that’s nice, I guess it gets kind of cold here so I’m looking forward to that!! It’s so hot that when I take out my water bottle out of the fridge, in 5 minutes its room temp! No joke! It’s that Hot!! But don’t worry mom! I put on my sunscreen!! Haha best thing ever!!

My comp, well he’s pretty close and just wants to talk to the families about social life, so I just had a comp inventory and we fixed everything!! We have our first baptism in two weeks!! family agia, and in three weeks fam villa fuerte!! So this week will be good because I’m gonna be on him!!

The food….ha, I had my first bad plate of food! She came out and asked us why we weren’t done already, and we told her we were talking! My comp didn’t even like it!! Ha but she left and he gave me the eye like I have to eat it all! So I did... I almost died!! Ha but I didn’t get sick!! We blessed the food! haha

Ha so crazy story! Real quick!! So I went on my first splits with an elder from Vegas, he is such a great guy! But I asked him if he knew Elder Kunz….He did!! Same District!! He says he was a great missionary and super obedient, just touched a wire and the stairs were right there and fell down!! So sad!! But the things you watch out here for... the wires and the cars!! The rest is great!! Ha the bigger the car, the more power to yah!!

Nothing really exciting this week happened, just lots of tracking and a couple people committing to baptism!! Ha there are a ton of dogs here!! More than people probably!!

I went to church for the first time!! I didn’t understand much, but it was great! I love the Sacrament!! I just read out of PMG and got all of my spiritual moments! I love you guys tons! Have a great week!

Love Elder Facer

P: S The letters and package are the mission home!! So I sent letters! Hopefully you get them! I will send the address next week! I spaced bringing it this week but it sounds like you have it figure out! Love you guys!

First Area - Victoria Mexico

Culture Shock - October 6th, 2014

Wow this week has been full of new things that I never would have thought of before. I never thought Tampico would be like this! So Monday we got here and they fed us this amazing dinner called tacos al pastor. They tricked us, or at least me they did. We got a night pack and went to sleep at this house with many beds, wow, it was dirty! Let’s just say this place is totally a third world country. Ha we can’t drink water, so it makes it hard to brush your teeth, always have cold water, just the little things you would never think of! It reminds me a lot of Peru! I think it might be a little worse though! Ha I love the people though, they are so loving even though I have no idea what they are saying.

So after that one night we had the next day for training! It took all the way until 2, but then we went and had lunch again at the mission home and got our comps. So what president Jordan wants to happen is for my generation to be leaders at the 4 month mark! Kinda crazy because my Spanish is struggling and it’s so hard because they speak super-fast. So what they did to make this happen was split up the zone leaders, district leaders, got all the best missionaries and made them trainers for us. So all of us got super great comps. I got "Elder Amador" he’s from vera cruz Mexico and only knows a little English. It’s a little big hard to communicate with him but I try hard so we do. Even though I try, my Spanish is terrible. ha it’s getting better though because I have to speak to him 24 7 ha the second I wake up! Ha it’s crazy how bad I’ve just wanted a normal conversation in English! I love English. Ha so a little bit more on my comp... He holds the record in the mission for most baptisms. He’s super hard working so it’s great! Ha we already have 18 baptisms! Crazy right. Ha but that’s only if they go to church so hopefully they do.

So the area I’m in is called Victoria! Its 4 hours away from Tampico and I’m in outside of the city! So basically we have the poorest parts. Ha we tract on dirt roads, hills, we have it all. Being in this area has really humbled me and made me realize how blessed I am at home! We really do have it amazing in the U.S. let’s also say I’ve given a mission prayer, all because I’m white! Ha one family told me to say it in English! So I did willingly! Ha everyone stares also... ha so that means I have to be "normal" all of the time!

So my house. We have our things, kitchen rooms not big, but no carpet or anything! Let’s just say I miss carpet. Ha we have bugs also! Today I killed a lizard... kinda awesome but nasty at the same time. Ha I get bit by mosquitoes so often... maybe because I’m white... ha just kidding! Ha but I’m getting use to them! Ha no warm water either! I miss it! So my showers are real fast! Ha so the heat! It’s like if you put Arizona mid-summer and Florida together! So hot!! I’ve never sweat this much ever!

So it’s been hard being here. Hardest thing I’ve ever done! As the week has gone on I’ve realized if I try to do it on my own... it will never happen. I have to rely on the lord. As I have done that. It’s been easier. I will have to do it for the rest of my mission also! The lord is so comforting though! Since it was general conference I watched it in English! I’ve I was so excited! It was amazing!! So many great talks! My favorite line was "become good at repenting" it’s so true!! Using the atonement is so important one of the most important things! Also decisions determine destiny!

Mom, so the food is pretty good here, real "authentic Mexican food" ha let’s just say it’s close to Puerto Vallarta... haha but it’s probably a little better here... well it just depends. Ha I ate this chili one time and I started to die because it was so hot... so I started speaking in English and that didn’t help so people started laughing!! Ha it was rough!! Ha

I love it here even though it is so third worldish! I love the Lord! He is the head of our church and is guiding us to where we should go. Remember to remember him in all things! With success but as well in the hardest times and all the way in between! I love you guys so much and I am so grateful for your prayers!! I love you!

P.S it tells me all my words are wrong... so I’m not sure which ones really are!
Love you!

2 Days Left - September 27th, 2014

Hola mi familia!!
2 days left! So crazy that my time is up at the MTC! It went by super fast and i still don't know any Spanish i feel like! ha its all good though! I will have to learn it when I'm in Mexico! This week has not been normal at all! Last Saturday i was getting sores in my mouth, but I thought i could just get them out with some Listerine! That didn't work out so well! They got worse! On Monday i knew i needed to go to the doctor and get the medicine i got last time to fix it! so we went in and he didn't listen to me and prescribed me with some other medicine that didn't work at all! they kept getting worse, but i tried to have faith that they would work.. but they didn't! ha i was kinda frustrated! On Tuesday, my comp got sick, and at 1:30 in the morning i gave my first priesthood blessing! Never thought i would give my first one at 1:30! ha but it did help and was a great experience! That next day we went to the doctor for him and he had bronchitis! not good but he's getting better now and almost well i want to say! ha so on Thursday we went back in for our check up and they still wouldn't listen to me! So he told me i had to go off campus and see a doctor.. but thank you so much mom! he finally listened to you. As i was checking into the doctor, they told me that they cancelled it and that i needed to go back to main campus and see the doctor again there! Once we went back he told me that we need to go pick up the prescription and i will be good! So now I'm on my rode to recovery with my mouth! it will take a little bit because they are all over, but its ok! It was hard that i couldn't talk to you mom! ha i was telling her what to say and she wouldn't say it sometimes! ha but its ok i will get to talk to you on Monday from 2 to 5 in my lay overs in Houston! ha right "Houston"?:) ha but i plan on calling Mackenzie and Darin and also Braxton and Alesha! so be ready!:) ha so you can say this week has been spent in the doctors office! My comp and I have been having fun there!  Not really! but we met a guy that went to Tampico! It was so awesome to get to talk to him! he says we will love it!:)  I got my hair cut today!! Lets just say.. I've looked better in my days!! ha thank you so much Mackenzie and mom for giving me great haircuts.. cause this lady did.. a not so good job!!

More on the spiritual side, we got to hear from Elder Ballard on Tuesday night! It was amazing! He talked to us like we were his Grand kids! He was great! He told us how we need to cherish our missions with everything and how they don't stop once we are home! We might have all these different callings in the church and we need to be ready and willing to act once we are called! He definitely went up on my favorites list! ha we were like 3rd row also! so close!! I think we made eye contact at least 5 times!;) It was our last time teaching our investigators here at the MTC, we had an amazing last lesson! He committed to baptism finally and the spirit was super strong! i love teaching people and i cant wait till i do it in Tampico! it will probably be my comp for the first 5 weeks, but it will be ok! I will try my hardest to participate in the lessons, even if i kill it.. in a bad way! Hopefully the gift of tongues comes into play right?:) I have faith that it will! So yesterday, we had infield orientation and that's what Sam Anderson does!! it was cool to see him! he is such a nice guy! asked about the whole family!! ALL By name! kind of amazing right! ha that guy needs to get married! ha hes funny! he acts like its the ladies fault! then again hes the one teaching at the MTC!! hahah but this week has been great! ha i thought i had patience, but there's a whole new level i need to be on, and i am working to be on that level! ha my comp is the same! ha helping me out with the patience part of it so that's good and bad at the same time! ha but I've really liked the MTC and am so blessed to be serving the Lord! I love you all so much! You all are in my prayers! Have a great week!

September 20th, 2014 - Travel Plans

Hola mi familia y amigos!!

We got our TRAVEL PLANS!!!!!!!! I'm so excited!! We fly out at 10 a.m. on Monday morning! We have to leave the MTC at 4:35. It’s super early but I'm so excited to get out of this place! This week has been crazy and I'm not sure why! Even though it was super crazy it was good!
On Tuesday we went to our Tuesday night devotional, and guess who decided to show up?? Richard G Scott! He had an amazing talk about prayer and how it’s important to us because we get to talk to our Heavenly Father and it shouldn't be something that we just go through! We should pray with all of our heart! I totally agree! Being on my mission has helped me so much come closer to my Heavenly Father! Pray is essential to come closer to him! I guess we are gonna get another general authority on Tuesday night again so that will be super awesome! I will tell you all about it on my next P-day!

On Wednesday we were able to be hosts for all the new missionaries that came in! 161 to the west campus! It was awesome to see and reflect on how much I've grown in the month that I've been here! I was able to host this kid from Rexburg that i played ball with so that was good, and hopefully comforting to him! The rest of the week flew by! We taught our TRC investigator and it was amazing! He wanted my companion to teach the whole thing!! I helped my comp prepare and he killled it! By the end of it you could see that he had a ton more confidence! Ever since that experience he’s been helping out in the lessons!! It was a huge testimony builder for himself and me also! For him, knowing that he can do it!! For me, that hard work really does pay off and without the Lord I wouldn't have been able to do it!

So since today was P-day, we went to the temple, and came back early because the buses were shutting down since BYU has a football game today!! We came back and went to Brigham landing! There was this burger place and other shops so we ate at the burger place and also went to Jamba juice! It was super good! ha I miss that kind of food. Well it doesn’t help that this food isn't great! We only have a week left and i hear the last week in the MTC is the best because they start to just be spiritual and not worry about the Spanish as much!! so that will be awesome!

So tomorrow is Sunday and I've been asked to say the opening prayer... in Spanish.. so that will be good! I'm kinda excited for it! Elder Trost and I are also saying the sacrament prayers! Just like old times!!:) ha so if I have to give a talk also! That would just be crazy! I would steal the show! I'm so grateful for the wonderful opportunity that i have to serve the lord and teach people about the wonderful gospel!

September 13th, 2014 Slow Days - Fast Weeks

Hola,
One of the main sayings here at the MTC is.. the days are slow.. but the weeks are super fast!! Its so true! This week was actually a little more exciting then the last ones!! On Wednesday we went to the Mexican consulate in Salt Lake City! We traveled by train so it was kind of exciting since i have never been on a train before! We had to walk a little bit in the city and the people in SLC are either super nice or kinda mean and hate us! We went into the gas station and there was about 20 of us and a guy offered to buy us all drinks!! He was so nice! Such a great guy! Also my comp has a little bit of a staring problem.. he was staring right at a guy that was opening his can of chew.. and the guy asked him.." You want a dip"! My comp said no.. and walked away!! I died laughing and told him that he needed to work on his little problem! My comp is getting better! I finally see that he is wanting to improve and get better at the language.
Here in the MTC you teach investigators(members that act fake) but ours is a super great guy and is so easy to love!! Its amazing how fast you love your investigators! On our second lesson.. We got him to commit to baptism! it was so awesome! we were the first ones out of our district to ever get someone to be baptized. Everyone thought we could never do it.. but we did!:) ha teaching makes me want to get in the field that much more! Whenever I'm teaching to the needs of the investigator(which i try to do every time) i feel the spirit so strongly! I love this gospel and can't wait to get to Tampico and teach the people there! We have 2 weeks from Monday!! Mom i will be home before you know it!!
My comp and I have also been made the coordinators of the sacrament!! Super easy but kinda fun also! So we get to pick people to bless and pass the sacrament! We are gonna bless it next week! i have to get my comp ready for it so we don't have to say it a million times! i love serving the lord and am so blessed with the best family ever! love you guys!
Te Amo,
Elder Facer
P.S That package you sent me mom was the best!! I love everything about it! it might last me 2 weeks!! i have some random things that i might need for you to send me in the future.. but that wont be for a little bit!
