Tampico Mexico Mission

June 1st, 2015 -Hna Georgina got baptized!

Hey! Wow it was such a busy week here in Tampico!! We really had things do every single day! Which made it be such a quick week, and the weeks are already quick enough! We had a couple meeting with President for the end of the new missionaries, because transfers are the next week, and it was super great to hear from the leaders of the mission!! They are always so powerful! We also had..... OUR BAPTISM!!!! It was super great and went super smoothly!! Hna Georgina and her son got baptized! He’s 8 so it doesn’t count as our convert, but we had to teach them everything and get them prepared, so half ours!;) It was a great experience! With my first comp, he told me it’s super hard to find someone and have them be baptized with the same comp because they have to go to church 5 times!! Well the help of the Lord somehow we did it with them!! Must have been made de oro.. or gold! We also had another experience that stuck out to us both!! We have this investigator named Ana! She’s great and she’s of a part member family also that less actives and we had no idea that she wasn’t a member!! We started asking the family who we could teach and they told us her.. we were kinda shocked and begin to teach her!! We gave her a Book of Mormon and she read 3 Nephi 11 when Christ comes to America and then she asked our Heavenly Father in a prayer if it was true, she told us that she didn’t get an answer in that moment but as the night continued she felt that someone was with her! Her husband works the night shift so she sleeps alone and as the night went one she felt that someone was with her and she felt calm and peace! She took that to be her answer and wants to continue to learn more! I’ve also seen this week that Satan is trying to stop the Lord’s work!! He can’t stop him, nor will he be able to ever! I’m so grateful for the Holy Ghost in my life and to see it bless the lives of others!! He’s real and is sent from our Heavenly Father! When we do our part we receive this help from the Holy Ghost, from our loving Heavenly Father!! So many things happened this week and this letter doesn’t do this week justice with all the things that happened!! I love you guys and sounds like you had a good week!!! Boys keep working hard on the bball!! Have a fantastic week!! Love, Ky

May 26th, 22015 - Temple Day

Where do I start! It was such a great week this last week!! It was super busy with things to do every day!! First we went to the temple today so that’s why we are writing today!! I love the temple and the special spirit that you can feel when you are there!! It’s great that we have one so close to us in Idaho!!! Well today I wanted to tell you a little bit about the last couple weeks!!! Well we have a baptism this Saturday!!!!!! Han Georgina!!! She’s going to be baptized and her son that is 8! We will see if the husband has the priesthood to see if he can baptize them but if he can’t we are going to have one of the older sons from the other marriage baptize them!! They are going to come from Mexico City and also Guadalajara!! It will be super special!! I haven’t done this family justice in my letters to you guys!! They are so wonderful!! We met them on the bus and it’s been every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at... 4:30 those days!!! They haven’t missed once!! We always get a little pop and bread after!!! It’s a little bonus!;)They are so amazing! We have been visiting them for 6 weeks!! They have only missed church once because they had the flu!! All of them, but rather than that, not once!! She passed her interview last Saturday so she will be baptized at 5 this Saturday!! It will be such a great and spiritual experience!! I’m not really sure how to put it into words!! I’m so grateful for them and really do love them!! We also had an amazing experience this last week!! Early in the week we were passing a street and a couple guys stopped us and asked us where we were going!! We told them for a lesson and they asked us what we were going to teach, so we told them and got to know them!! One just returned from his mission and the other just got baptized about three weeks ago!! They live in the area that’s right next to us so we said good bye and went on our way!! A couple days later we were passing the same street and we ran into them again!! We talked a little and out of a joke we asked them when they were going to go with us to teach a couple lessons, and then it made them think!! They told us, well I do have a friend in your area and we could go see him another day!! So he got our number and we left!! That night he sent us the address and the next day we had the lesson!! Well we went to the house and return missionary couldn’t make it in time, so we just got to know them and what not!! They are about 21!! His name his Luis and his friend is Santiago!! We put a date to return the Saturday and came with the return missionary and his friend the recent convert!! We had such an amazing experience!! We asked them to be baptized and it made them think!!! There was silence, not kidding for a couple minutes!! Think about that... just a lot of guys... friends, just silent!!! The spirit was so strong!!! I haven’t prayed so hard for the spirit to testify to someone in the moment!!! The silence broke and he said, well if I receive an answer that this is true, he will be baptized, we have the date to come back and I pray that he will receive the answer that his true!! It was such a great experience that left the 4 of us full of the Holy Ghost knowing that he was present and none of us could deny it!! It was a great week and sounds like you all had a great week with the rain!!! Love you guys tons!!! Love Ky

The Lord Prepares His People - May 18th, 2015

Hola! Sounds like you all had a good week here in IF and also in the DR!! Dad you can come down here to Mexico and be my comp! Sounds good to me!.) It was a super quick week but super great and full of experiences!! Too bad we only have an hour so I can just tell you a couple!! So we are starting to get the confidence of the members here in the area and we went to sister Montolongos house and were going to see if she could go with us to a lesson but she said... elders!! Enter Enter!! So we went into here little garage thing because there wasn’t a man over 18 so we couldn’t enter the house, but we had chairs what not so we sat there and she told us that she had someone that wanted to talk to us!! We said alright and were a little confused because it’s all member that live there!! As we were waiting she came out with the helper at the house!! She has been helping them for over 15 years and has never listened to the missionaries!! Remember this family is super strong in the church!! All the sons went on missions and the dad is in the bishopric and everything!! She hasn’t listened to them once!!! I’m not sure how but it happened!! The lord really does prepare the people for us!!! He’s doing the work and touching their hearts to hear the message of the restoration! We had the lesson and it was super powerful!! We didn’t want to push here super hard because it could turn everything upside down with her help and the family... so we are taking things slowly and this week we will return and see if she really did the commitment on reading and praying to see if it’s true!!! She is pretty great!! Ha by the way her name is Mari! We also had a lesson last night with a part member family Family Rios! Three families live in one house and the kids are all members and live with their families in the house!!! The house is tiny!!!! The son is less actives but know everything is true and his wife isn’t a member!! We showed and told them we had a very specific lesson just for them!! Ha we sat down and started talking!!! We started talking about random things and then my comp asked him what was his favorite movie... he told us Fast and Furious!!! Ha so funny!!! He got all into it and what not!! It just clicked!! Thanks to my comp!! We are best friends with them now!) We then shared a message with them about the Book of Mormon so that the wife can know if it’s true and we tied it in with families can live together forever!! We testified super strongly that the Book of Mormon holds it all together and that she can know if it’s true!! We had a moment of silence and the husband started to talk!!! He bore his testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and that one day, in the near future she will know it’s true and that they will have a family that can live forever only through the temple!! It was so powerful because he was testifying these things to her!! It was amazing because with the love that they have and the trust in a marriage makes it a lot more powerful than us missionaries could ever do it!! We ran home because we were a little late in awe!!! Made it home on time and both sat there saying how amazing it was!! I am sure your experience was just has great as mine dad and I know how strong the spirit is when you testify of the gospel!! Love you guys tons and hope you have a great week!!! Know that you’re always in my prayers!! Especially Grandpa Facer!!!! Love Ky!!! We have a baptism coming up on the 30th!!!!! Family Moctazuma Loreda!!!! Pray for them!!!!: Love you all!!!

Mother's Day - May 11th, 2015

Hey, It was great to see you all this Mother’s Day!! Like what the Lundberg family would say... it was a tender mercy from the Lord!;) ha I haven’t laughed so hard from that for a long time! HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY AGAIN! I love you Mom and I am so grateful that I have the best mom ever.. You can’t beat her!!! Dad I also told the Lundbergs that you will be giving them some potatoes!!!!

We had a great week here in Modelo! We are continuing to work hard and see the progress in the area! The members are continuing to work more with us and also see the vision that we have for the area! Family Moctazuma is a part member family that should be baptized in the coming weeks!! They are super great! The wife isn’t a member and one of the kids isn’t also!! They are progressing way quickly! The husband is a less active and he is all for the church!! The ward is also having a couple activities and the kids are participating in them also!! They are basically like members!!

Well I’m not sure what more to say because you guys all know everything!! It was great to talk to you! Love you guys so much and am grateful to have an amazing family! You are always in my prayers!! Have a great week mom and dad in the D.R.!! You deserve the little trip!!

Love KY Elder FACER

It's True!! - May 4th, 2015

Hey!!

Well to finish the little story of last week we went to the house of Hna Pati and Hno Salvador!! Well... it’s true!! It was an amazing lesson and the Holy Ghost was so powerful! We asked him to read 3 Nephi 11 and he did!! We asked him how it went and he then just went off on the whole chapter telling us everything!! It was so great!! He told us how Jesus called to Nephi and told him to baptize the city and everything it was such a great experience that words can’t do it justice in this letter!! We then asked him if he wanted to be baptized and he said yes and his wife, didn’t read, so we invited her to read also and then ask our Heavenly Father if it’s true and if she gets the answer that it’s a yes will she be baptized also!! She agreed but while we listened they just talked to each other and she asked him [do you really know its true?] with the Book of Mormon in his hand and shaking his hand, said yes... it’s true!! It was an experience that was a testament that our Heavenly Father does answer our prayers and it’s not just to see if the Book of Mormon is true but it’s for everything! If we ask him directly, we will receive! He lives and he loves us and wants to help us out in our lives! As we do our part we will receive... we just have to knock!

We also have a family that is progressing super quickly and they seem like members in the church already! We just have to help them continue to attend church and at the end of this month they will be able to be baptized!!

It was a good week and I learned this week that I have to think before I talk! Have maybe a little silent moment and think what’s best out of the many options! This week we had a meeting with Elder Johnson! He is a president of the area or something like that in the 70!! The main message of the story was to repent!:) It’s true because we have to continue to do it every day! It doesn’t just have to be with little sins but there are ways we could change our good actions into great actions!!

We heard all about the fight here in Mexico!! They all told us how terrible and boring it was and basically how it was just a show!!.) They both won a ton of money though!:) Might become a fight now!;) ha

We are having fun and continuing to work hard every day!! Hope to see all your... white faces this Sunday!! Especially yours mom!! :) On the great mother’s day!! I really do have the best mom!! Sounds like you all had a great week this last week!! Strat continue to work hard on bball and Trev get better quickly!! Houst.. didn’t hear from yah but I know you’re doing great!! Love you mom and dad! Love you guys tons!! Have a great week this week and we will talk shortly this Sunday!!

Love, Ky

The Holy Ghost is Real! - April 27th, 2015

Hey!!

It was a good week here in Modelo!! It was the last week in the change and we continued to work hard!! We stayed the same so it will be good to finish out training Elder Lundberg! He is a great missionary, and even though he may be new, I still learn things from him every day!! This week we became friends!! There is a change from comps and friends... we are friends!! I’m not sure how it really happened but we kinda just started to talk and we ended up talking about our lives and what not and it really just changed our friendship!! We will be friends after the mission also! He’s doing good!! Battling with the Spanish but improving every day.. gaining more confidence and the gift of tongues is guiding him through the lessons!!

It was an interesting week!! We had a couple hard days but the lord always blessed us in that day with an experience that was super spiritual! A week or so ago we contacted this family in the street and they said that we could come back the following week, so Monday of this week we went over to their house... Big Big house!! It’s rare because usually the people that have money just reject us, but anyways, we went to their house on Monday and they weren’t there, so we just continued to work that day and passed the house and all the sudden we were a little ways off and we heard whistling and they were calling us down!! We turned around and went back to them and they told us sorry and what not that they were gone at his mom’s house and how we could come back any other day and they would make sure to be there!! So we put it down another day and went back!! We went back I think it was Friday and had an amazing lesson!! The Holy Ghost is super powerful and they accepted the Book of Mormon and said they really have been searching for something like this in their lives!! The wife Pati started to cry and really wanted to know if the Book of Mormon is true.. well to end the story we are going back tonight to see how it went and to see if they have received an answer! I have confidence in my Heavenly Father that if they have done their part and asked, they will have received an answer!! The Holy Ghost is real and touches the investigators hearts, we are just a small part in the process as missionaries!!

I love you guys tons and it sounds like your week was good!! I pray that the Lord will continue to bless you in all you do!!

Love Ky!!

It's HOT! - April 20th, 2015

Hola! It was a great week here in Tampico!! The weather seems nice on the iPhone, but when you get here... wow it’s so hot!! humid!! We only have one fan in the house so we are sweating a ton!! I think it evens out because I eat a ton and I sweat a ton so I just stay the same weight!:) It’s really going good here! My comp is doing great and I’m learning about the rodeo life! I’m gonna ride a bull when I get back!;) We had a couple different things happen this week!! We had divisions and I stayed in my area with an Elder Weddle! He is crazy and from Ohio!! I’ve never laughed so much from the things he says!! He’s a newer elder also and still has in him all of the funny things!! It’s like they don’t have limits yet! If you know what I mean! It’s kind of hard to explain!:)

We also had the meeting for all the new elders with president! It was super great! The spirit was so strong! We split up and all of the trainers stayed in one room and the new elders went in the other with president!! We were with the assistants! It was amazing! We had to teach the doctrine of Christ!! There are so many ways I can improve my teaching and when an elder teaches the doctrines of Christ, they are teaching the ways that he did, and he wants us to teach! I’ve got a long way to go!! We also had a different day Sunday! Church went well and we had a couple investigators go! We found a part member family and they are so wonderful!! The husband wants them all to be baptized, so we put a date with them and they came to church! We are excited for them and they seem like they will complete will all of their desires!! We had lunch and went out and worked again but the first lesson we had we got rejected and they just didn’t want anything to do with us... not something totally new but you can just feel the spirit leave! We left quickly and went to the next lesson!! We said a little prayer together on the way and taught the same lesson to the next family! We changed the lesson a little bit, but it was just amazing how you can feel the Holy Ghost influence the people in their lives! The day was starting to get better and we went to a less active that can’t go because she is super sick! Her name is Hna Trivinu! We went over to her house and gave her the sacrament and she also asked for a blessing! The spirit was there and you could feel it!! It’s amazing how the Lord blesses our lives with the Holy Ghost! The Holy Ghost is really the one that touches the people lives, we are only a mouth piece!

My thoughts have turned this week to the atonement of Jesus Christ and the blessing we have in our lives! There are many parts of the bible that have this but the parts I have read most are in Matthew 26 and 27! I’m so grateful of the atonement in my life and the opportunity I have to share with others the blessings and happiness they can have in their lives!! I love you all and seems like your weeks were good!! Trust in the lord and always come closer to him by doing the things that he wants of us!! Grow your testimony and conversion in him and you will never fall!! Feel the Holy Ghost in your life every day and see the difference that in makes!!

Love you tons! Love Ky

The Lord is more powerful than Satan - April 13th, 2015

Hey!

It was a great week here!! The area is coming along super quickly!! We worked our tails off this week and thought we were gonna get to take a nap this week, but they are doing some construction above us... so we didn’t get much!;) We had a good week though!! We had our first divisions of this change! Wasn’t something new for me but for my comp!! We had a good little divisions though!! I stayed in my area with one of the Zone leaders! His name is Elder Thalti! It was great to be with him and I learned a lot!! It’s amazing how much you can learn in a day!!

We found a lot of new investigators this week!! We found this new family! Super great!! Family licion hdz!! We taught them the first lesson and at the end of the lesson he asked us about a prayer, where you put your hands on the head and what not!! I was super confused at first then I remembered the blessing!! He asked if we could give his wife one the next time we went to his house!! We returned a couple days later and explained the blessing and gave a blessing to her!! It was a great expérience! He was all about the blessing!! Once we finished he asked her.. how do you feel? expecting her to say something huge! It was super funny!! Great family!! This Sunday was fast Sunday and it was super great!! The spirit was super strong!! The husband went to church this week!! The rest of the family couldn’t go but he went and it was a good experience for him!!

My comp is doing great!! He’s coming along super quickly!! He will be a great missionary when he can speak the language fully!! He’s starting to be more brave and go for it during the lessons, so it’s good!!

We have found some families that are progressing super quickly!! It’s crazy how to see how the closer the people are to be open to know the truth of this gospel how Satan is working hard also so that they wont’!! With the Lords help they can always know of the truth because the Lord is a lot more and will always be more powerful than anything of Satan!!

I’m doing great and mom no need to worry about my health! I’m doing good!! The Mexican food is super good!! Sometimes I eat way too much and it’s not good because we have to walk a ton after!;) Sounds like you all had a great week!! Super busy with school, sports, and work and the house!! Seems like so long ago that we were always running around to the different events!! I know that you’re all doing great and put my trust in the Lord that he will continue to make the right choices in whatever it is!! I love you guys and so grateful for the amazing family that I have!! I’m so grateful for the plan that my Father in Heaven has for us, that we can live together after this life para siempre!:) What a great blessing that is!! I know this is the only true church and when we follow the teachings of it, we will be happy!! I love you guys and pray that the Lord will strengthen and bless all of your lives in whatever you may be doing!

Love you all! Love, ELDER FACER

Loved Conference - April 6th, 2015

Wow!! What a crazy week here in Tampico!! We were so busy with tons of stuff this week!! We were always running around and sweating so much!! It’s super humid here and it just makes you sweat a ton!! Especially when you are walking.... basically running from house to house! ;)

The area is coming along quickly this week! We had a good week!! On Friday we had a meeting with president and another zone where he could teach us and it went super well! He just made our visions a whole lot bigger!! ha He’s a great boss!,) The zone meeting went well and it was fun to see a lot of the other elders that I know and from my zone and from other areas that I’ve known them!! They all seems to be doing great!! We came back into our area and it was one of the busiest days that I’ve had in the mission!! We came back and ate and went on the go!! We had a couple good lessons but then we went with a family that’s progressing super well!! We got there and invited them to the conference and they told us about the day they went to a baptism there and how it was so bonita and how they want it and what not!! It was so amazing!! They are great!! The husband Martin is a less active and he went to the priesthood session and the rest Lilian, Mari, Brenda, and Alex of the family went to three out of the 4 sessions!!! How great is that?? We will have to figure out a couple things in the next couple weeks, but in the end of this month we are hoping that they will be baptized!! I love them and so excited for that day!!

My comp is doing great!! He is coming along quickly and he’s surprised how busy we are!! When we looked back on that last week... he told me... there’s nothing more we could have done... my goal is to make it like that all of the weeks of my mission!!! Just be more organized and it should be more effective!! We seem to be working with the members more closely!! We have gotten the trust of most of them and now we just need to put it into practice with them and how they could help all of our investigators!!

Sound like you all had a great week!! I hope you all listened super closely to the conference!! Some super great talks... better get off those phones!,) we watched in English with all the rest of the missionaries that speak English!! We also had a couple of ladies that were stuck here in Mexico... got converted and just got the papers to go back!! So they were watching it here with us also!! They are great!! My favorite talk was Elder Holland’s!! I just love the way he goes about it his talks, and the love he has for our savior Jesus Christ and our loving Heavenly Father!! That’s something that I want to grow here on the mission!! But it really will take years to develop!! I love you guys and trust in the Lord that you are all doing well and deepening your conversions!! Happy birthday Chad!! Congrats Brax and Alesha!!

Have a good week!! Love Ky!!

Hna Teresa was baptized - March 30th, 2015

Hola!! Tuvimos el bautismo!!!! We had the baptism!! It was a good week!! The baptism went well!! There probably won’t be a baptism in the mission that goes super smoothly!! This one didn’t but hna Teresa got in the water!;) The baptism was scheduled for 3 and it lasted until 5:30!! Because people had to come and what not!! I got to be the witness because we didn’t have priesthood sufficient!! It was a good experience!! She was so ready to be baptized!! She’s great!! She really has a great spirit about her!! I would love to say we found her and what not but a lot of time that’s not the case. We just had to make sure that she went to church and had to finish some of the lessons. We also had to activate her cousin because she wanted him to baptize her. He was less active but we got it all together and it went through. It was a good experience for my comp!! The first one!! It’s going great with my comp!! He only gets frustrated with the language but I can remember how I was just the same because I thought I should be able to speak it! It just comes with time!! He’s great!! When he does speak, you really can feel the Holy Ghost!! I can now tell you how the gift of tongues is real for me and for him!! I know that the people understand the things that we have for them!! 2 gringos walking around!! It’s never happened before in this area so people are liking to stare! It’s pretty funny!! It was a good week for the missionary work!! The binder for the area is missing a lot of people we found out this week!! I’m not sure how but a lot of people get lost or what not, but we found them again this week!!! Here’s a little story. On the first day of the change a man contacted us and told us that we could come over to his house whenever he wanted and that he had a daughter that lives in the United States and she is a member. We really didn’t think anything of it and kinda forgot about him but just a couple days ago a teenager contacted us and told that we should come meet with them and visit them! So we said ok, but it came to that day and we had the baptism and we were chuck full so we didn’t go!! Yesterday we went to the house and the wife came out and greeted us. She was like Elders I’m glad you’re here!! I was takin back but them we visited them!! We put it all together and how the Dad contacted us first and how his son was the second. Family Aguilar!! They are great!! They have a son named Antonio!! He’s 24 and I think he’s made of gold!! He just had a look about him that was different!! I’m not sure how to explain it!! We found 2 families like them this week!! It was great!! The area is coming along quickly!! We are now starting to teach families!! It’s something special because really the gospel is here to bless our families and how we can live with them for all eternity!! Alanna’s birthday is this Saturday right!!! Happy bday!!! Also general conference!! I think its Jacob 4 : 6 lealo!!:) Sounds like you all had a good week with spring break!! Our spring break was real good! :) Ha love you tons!! Have a good next week!! Love, Ky

A Blessing to be with Elder Lundberg - March 23rd, 2015

Hola!

Where do I start!! It was such an amazing week we had here!! It’s a huge blessing to be with Elder Lundberg!! Even though he doesn’t speak much Spanish... almost none!! Ha he has a great spirit about him! We had so many experiences that were super spiritual! We found some new investigators this week that are so wonderful! We had this family named family Hernandez. They are so great! So a little bit about them! We went on Saturday to teach her because on Friday we contacted her in the street. We talked a little bit and she said that she had family that was members and how that we could come back Saturday, so we said alright and left and thought nothing of it! On Saturday we went to her house and she wasn’t home, only the little kids. We talked to them and asked if someone was home that we could talk to and they said yes and all the sudden a man came out and we talked a little bit and he said he was a member just going to a different church time. He told us lots of different things and how he was a missionary also and what not. Then her name is Hna Lilian came home! We talked to her also and asked if we could share a message. She said sure so we taught her but in the middle of the lesson, her family that I was explaining, his name is Arude, I asked him a question to tell us a little bit more about the baptism of Jesus Christ! He changed!! It was so funny to see!! He went from normal... to missionary mode!! It was great!! We had such a great lesson and she accepted a baptism date with her 3 little kids!! The next day was Sunday and they all came to church!! It’s a feeling that’s indescribable!! We also had to give talks!! We had our talks and they went pretty well!! My comp was pretty nervous!! He did a great job though!

This week we seemed to also get the confidence of some of the members a lot more!! They seem to want to work with us more closely so we are looking forward to that!! A little bit more about the area and us... we have a baptism this Saturday!! Hna Teresa!! We are super excited for her and hope it goes through!! I wish I could tell you more of the stories and experiences that we had this week but I don’t have enough time.I’m just a slow typer!! I also need to send pics so that will take up a little bit of time also.

Sounds like spring break will be fun!! Keep safe and have a great time!! I’m doing great here!! The Spanish is coming along great!! With the people and everyone else I have to pretty much talk all the time, but with my comp we are coming little by little with the Spanish!! We speak a little bit of English! ;) Ha I hope you are all doing great and you are all in my prayers!!

One of my favorite scriptures right now is John 21!! Give it a shot if you want! ;)

Love you guys!
Love Elder Facer

I'm Training - March 17th, 2015

Buenas Tardes! Wow!! I’m in a rush this week and I won’t be able to write hardly at all because we have to go work!! It’s a little late in the day I just want you to know that I’m doing great and I stayed in my area this change!! The change is that I’m training!! Elder Lundberg from RIGBY IDAHO how great is that!! I’m sure you will be able to get in contact with his family!! Tell them that he is doing great and has a special spirit about him!! We had a great week this last week! I learned a lot from Elder Cruz but I think we will have some big changes in this area!! It has a ton of potential!! Yesterday we went to office home and received the new missionaries! We actually worked yesterday and received our new comps today!! We had a meeting with president and he sure does expect a lot out of us!! He’s such a great leader for this mission!! I’m super excited for this next week to work with Elder Lundberg and we actually have a baptism on the 28th!! Hna Teresa!! She’s great!! I will surely write you more in the next week!! Just know that I love you tons and I’m praying for you always!! Mom remember that I’m doing great!! My health and all! No need to worry!! It will be a great next week!! Sounds like you had a good week all together!! I will do that bracket, and if I win in the family pool, I expect the money!!! :) I will send pics next week and write a longer one next week!! Love you tons!! Love Ky

I'm Here Doing the Lord's Work - March 9th, 2015

March 9th, 2015 Hola!! It was a super good week here and it kinda changed the mission for me personally! We were busy the whole week with things to do!! Our area is doing well and we found some new investigators that really want to progress!! It’s always a great thing when the investigator has real intentions and actually follows through with the commitments!! We had some great lessons this week!! It was Friday and we taught a couple lessons and what not, but the Hna Lilia was sick and also an investigator named Angel was sick. So we gave them a blessing!! I gave one of the blessings and my comp gave the other!! We always switch off and on, but I gave the blessing for Hna Lilia and it was a moment that I will never forget!! It was one of those moments when you give the blessing and the words just come to you!! I’ve always heard it from Dad and what not, but it’s something really special and I now know what Dad was talking about all those years!:) We also have a family Benite working through a divorce and are going to be married here, but here in Mexico it’s hard to do the both, but we talked to them last week about it a little and went on our way! At the first of the week, this week, they came to us and asked us more questions about it and how they are going to do it and what not!! It was great! I can’t wait for them to get it all figured out and then their baptism!! My comp is doing great!! We get along super well! It’s crazy how fast time is going!! This is the last week of this change!! I think when you really do just focus on the work and give it your all, you kinda do lose track of the time!! The mission changed for me this week because one day in the morning it was a little hard and what not so I read a couple of the talks that Darin gave me!! I was looking for flash cards and I founds the talks... miracle in its self right!:) ha but I grabbed the talks and sat down and read them! It’s been a super long time since I’ve read them and the spirit just hit me super hard and I just felt that really I’m not here for me!! I’m here doing the Lords work and need to focus on the people and how I could change their lives and not how this is gonna change my life!! Before I didn’t really think about me a whole ton and what not, but there’s so much that I could be and the Lord was just showing me how I could change by helping me see that!! I know that this gospel is true and know that this is the Lord’s work and when we give him our all in the Lord’s work or in our lives normally.....we will see miracles! The blessings will come that he has waiting for us, we just have to do our part….takes a little work but we can all do it!! Sounds like your week was fun with the trip to Utah!! Happy birthday Trevin!! Crazy how old you are!!! Don’t worry I sang to you from here!! I love you all and am always praying for you!! Have an amazing next week!! Love Ky!

March 2nd, 2015

Muy Buenas Días!

It was a good week here in Modelo!! It was a great start to go to the temple and worship there!! It’s something that is super special and really can change your week!! It definitely changed my week for me!! We had a good week here!! We are continuing to work hard and help this area out!! The reason it’s kinda hard is because before the elders didn’t use the members so the members are sleeping!! It’s just our job now to wake them up and get them to work!! We have some great members here! They really want to do the right thing, just not sure how to do it! ha Our bishop is in D F every other week so it’s hard to rely on him, so we kind of have to run our church!! This week I learned a lot just how to go do it!! You can think about something a lot, but it won’t be done until you just do it!!

My comp is doing great! He has great teaching skills and I’m always learning from his teaching skills!! It’s great to learn and apply it with my teaching!! I have a long ways to go, but little by little I’m coming along!! This week not much happened, just a lot of missionary work!!

We have this member in our area. His name is Javier! He has a pretty great story!! So he’s not all there if that makes sense, but he knows the church is true!! The rest of his family is less active and doesn’t go to church or anything!! They don’t want anything to do with it!! So this week we went to visit him and see if he could go with us to one of his neighbors!! He said yes and what not so we went and they weren’t home!! It was ok though because a lot of the lessons we put go thru!! But we asked him who else he knows and he just started going off with all these names and persons that we could teach!! not kidding it was 18 people!! It was awesome!! So now we have a little area that kinda exploded!!! It was great and I’m hoping this next week we will have some great new investigators!! The missionary work is something that isn’t an easy experience, because salvation isn’t a cheap experience!! I love that quote by Elder Holland!! It’s not exactly right but it’s kind of close I think!!

Today I cut my hair!! with a little help from my comp on the back but that’s it!!! I’m gonna be pro by the time I get back!! I took some pics but I don’t have much time so I will just have to send them the next week!!

We had a good little experience this week!! We are teaching a lady and we taught the first vision!! It was a good little lesson that we had with her!! She has had the lessons before with the missionaries but they kinda just left her and she doesn't know why.. probably because she wasn't progressing, but we taught her and she felt the spirit!! We put a date for a baptism with her and she said she will do what it takes to be ready for the date!! Her name is Paola!! She’s great and I know that her intentions are real!!

I love you guys and sounds like you had a good week!! I pray that you have a good next week and continue to remember the Lord in all you do and how blessed we are to have the gospel in our lives!!!

Love Ky

February 23rd, 2015 - I Love the Temple!!

Where do I start!!!

It was a busy busy week here in Modelo!! We started off the week with my comp sick!! He took medicine but the doctors aren’t really doctors here and it didn’t help him so we had to go to the hospital, and it’s the same in the hospitals. So they just gave him some pain medicine and we went on our way!! It worked so far!! He is still taking them so we will see in the next week if it totally went away!! I’m feeling great though!!:)

We were busy on Wednesday with the district class and some lessons that we had, but on Thursday we had interviews with President Jordan!! While we had the interviews we had a speech from Sister Jordan and the assistants!! It was great!! They talked to us for a little bit but then they told us they had a surprise for us!! The surprise was.... we watched Meet the Mormons movie!!!!! It was great! Of course in Spanish but it was awesome to watch!! The morning was great with them and the interview was even better!! President Jordan is great!! I learned so much of how I can become a better missionary!! We talked for a while and he gave me the different things that I could be doing to better my area!! When he talks... he talks with the spirit and you can feel it!! It’s one of a kind of!! I’m still calling it that his going to become a 70!! We got back in our area a little bit late but its ok though because when you feel the spirit like that... it’s a good day!!

The area is coming along slowly!! All the people in my area are either Jehovah Witness or Catholic!! Ha we are trying to help them out a little bit though! ;) We have some steady investigators that are super great! This is family Benitez!! We had a great experience this week! We taught this part member family and it was super great! They felt the spirit and are ready to have the gospel in their lives! At the end of the lesson the wife told us that she has been listening to missionaries since 1995! She told us now that she feels like its time and her prayers have been answered that she needs to be a member of this church and how she wants to go to the temple to be sealed to her husband! It was a moment that words can’t describe!! Such a great family and am excited to see their progression!! The husband served a mission so he is teaching them also!! They are a great family!! The members here are struggling a little bit because they aren’t used to helping us out, but we are putting them to work poco un poco. They are starting to go with us!!

So the reason why we have our p day today is because we went to the temple today!! I LOVE THE TEMPLE! It was so great!! It’s amazing how many answers you can receive and the spirit that you can feel in the temple!! It’s something super special that I hope you are all taking advantage of!! We got back in our area and went to a house where we were going to eat and they had a huge rat in the bathroom!! Yes I killed it!!! It was a battle and the photos aren’t fake!! We had a war and Elder Facer won!!!!!!!! That’s what I’m talking about!! The spirit of the Lord was with me!! :)

My comp had a year in the mission this week!! Yes he burned a shirt!! It was fun and reminded me of Saratov Approach!! Ha I love you guys and I feel like am missing something to tell you guys!! I trust in the Lord that you are all doing great!! From your letters…you’re doing great!! I love you guys!! Have a good week!!! Put the Lord first in your life and see the miracles that happen!! Love you guys!
Love Elder Facer!
PS mom enter my email and take the rat pictures from it and send them to everyone!!
Love you

February 16th, 2015 - Good Week in Tampico

Hey!!!

Sounds like you had a good week back in the good ol IF!! It was a good week herein Tampico!! The weeks are going by so fast! The time goes by so fast when you aren’t thinking about it and just serving the Lord with all you have!! That’s crazy about Lindsey coming home this change and about Jake and her being in the same district!!! They are lucky!! Ha we have sisters in our zone..... It’s different!! Ha it’s good though!! Some are so dramatic!! I’m coming up on 6 months and this week also my comp hits the year mark!! We will probably burn a shirt or something fun for it!!

We had a good week here!! The area is hard but we are improving it slowly! We have a ton of less actives and a lot of members that don’t feel the need to work in the Lord’s vineyard!! We are slowly starting to work with all of them!! We had a meeting with all of the leaders of each ward and the missionaries were invited! The stake president here gave the meeting!! It was super good and he basically told all of the ward how terrible of a job they were doing!! It was good because they had an activity and all of the members felt the need to have a better meeting on the Sundays together!! I’m not sure what it called in English!! This week my Spanish has been getting better! It’s just hard when you can’t speak Spanish or English!! I know what Braxton went through when he came home!! I can’t say a prayer in English!! Ha it’s sad but I think that’s a good thing for right now!!

We are slowly gaining some new investigators! There aren’t many here that think they need to learn about dios more in their lives because this area has a little bit of money, but when they do, they turn into some good investigators!!! We had a lesson this week that was pretty great!! We went a house of a less active and were talking with them and he served a mission and the whole 9 yards, but his wife isn’t a member or are the kids!! We started to teach them and we really didn’t know where to start!! After a little hesitation we got into the lesson and it was super good!! The spirit was super strong and we brought back some of the feelings for the husband (who was the missionary) and he started to teach his kids and his wife!! It was for them to feel of the Holy Ghost and to have in their lives the gospel! We finished the lesson and we didn’t even have to ask when we should return!! They asked us if we could come back this Thursday!! The Holy Ghost is something that can’t be mimicked!! He really comes from our Heavenly Father!!

My comp is doing good!! He still wants to be dude in the street, but we are trying to change that for him!! It’s hard because he is the district leader, he has to change his way of behavior to be an example!! ah vamos ah vamos!!

I’m doing great!!! I love the happiness that the gospel brings me!! I love you guys and am so grateful for the example you all are in my life!!! Have a great next week!

Love, Ky

PS I guess we have divisions this week and I might stay in my area!! We will see how it goes!!
Love this little line... Decisions determine destiny!!
General conference is in like a month or so right?? Have a good week!!!
Love you tons

February 9th, 2015 - New Area

Hola!!

It was a good week here in Modelo! The area is super different, but it’s fun and good to learn a new area! In our area we have a ton of members, but everyone is less active!! We are working hard, trying to reactivate them but in the mean time trying to find investigators!! We have a couple that are progressing so far, but the area is a little bit dead!

The members in the area are a little bit slow to help us out, but with our help they will start and eventually being doing it on their own!! Yah, I grew another heart and put in to action with a lot of the members that we have met!! It’s crazy how fast you can love the people in your area! We have a family and they are made up of less actives and recent converts! They are great!! For the first time in a long time they came to church together this week!! It was great to see them there!! They like to go with us to the investigators so it’s been fast and good to meet them!! I love them!!

My comp is great!! He was starting to get a little bit lazy, but I whipped him into shape and we are now together trying to be perfectly obedient!! Really we have a super good relationship!! We just talked about things and how we could be better, and we are now being really obedient and teaching together!! I’m not sure if the pictures are going to work this week!! If not I’m gonna be a little upset!! I took a lot this week!! ha so I bought a little set of a hair cutting clippers!! ha yes today I cut his hair!! Mackenzie I’m basically pro!! ha no I messed up a couple times on one of his ears but it’s funny!! The other ear looks perfect!!:) He wants to cut mine, but mine isn’t long right now!! It’s super short, so in a couple weeks he will cut my hair!

It was good week for me!! I’m doing great!! ha so the investigators are slim here but we are finding some new families to teach! We had a cool little experience this week!!! We were teaching this family this week and in the middle of the lesson she said.. I was baptized!! It was great!! After that she just told us everything!! The father hasn’t been baptized or the daughter! At the end of the lesson she asked for a blessing! We explained the blessing to the others and gave the blessing! The spirit was strong! They are excited for us to come back and learn more about the gospel!! They want to know if the church is true for themselves which is great so they don’t just believe in the people/ elders!

I love you guys a lot!! Sounds like you had a great week!! I’m going to try go to a different place to send pics!! Have a good Valentines!! Think about me with all the chocolate that you eat!! Happy bday Brax!! All the people that read this wish him a happy bday!! He deserves it!!!
Love all!!!

Love Ky!!

February 2nd, 2015 - First Transfer

Hey!!

We had the changes and it was kind of a little different one! First off with me!! I got changed to Tampico! I’m in a part called Modelo! Once I know my address mom I will send you so you can look at our house!! It’s a little different! Super small but it will be good!! My new comp is Elder Cruz! He is from Mexico and had a year in the mission!! He is good and knows no English!! I’m happy for that because it will force me to learn Spanish!! I will basically be Mexican when we finish!! The new area is good from what I know!! The store where we buy our food is super small but that’s ok!! We will have everything that we need!! I will tell you more about the area next week! I don’t know too much and feel a little lost! Elder Cammack also got changed out of the area!! I can’t remember where he is going but that means there will be two new missionaries in our area!! I’m not sure why they took him out also!! His is the new secretary to Sister Jordan!! It made sense thought because he called her almost every day with something that he had problems with!!

I was sad to leave my first area and all of the people that I had to say good bye to!! The people were so great!! Some of the best members I’ve ever met!! They were recent converts to!! They will all be trying to add me on Facebook, so mom be ready for that! :) What was super sad was that on the 14th we were going to have a baptism!! He was ready and will be baptized then, so we left the other elders a little present! He was great! His name is Martin! He wants to be baptized so badly!! Ha I think he might need a little more help or one or two more weeks, but we will see if he passes his interview!! The family is family Perez Sabala!! They are on their way also and close to baptism so am super excited for them!! When you say good bye to them, it feels like you have to grow a new heart for the new people in your new area!! I feel like it happened to me!"!!

It was a good last week in Victoria! We found a ton of new investigators, but it’s so hard to help them progress! With Mexico they say they want it, but don’t apply it in their lives!! In the states they are just honest!! But kind of rude about it!! Ha if they don’t want it they will just tell you how it is!! It’s so true here in the mission!! We get rejected so often, but the small victories are so much greater!!

When we were saying good bye to some of our investigators they told us and promised us that they will be baptized!!! Whoa!! The exciting thing about them is they are a family!! How ¨bonita¨ it is to see a family get baptized!!! I love the mission and excited to learn this new area and work with my comp!! He is great!!

Mom!!! I love you tons!! I hope you have a great bday on the 5th!! I will surely be thinking about you and eating an extra candy for you!:) ha I love you and hope you have the best bday ever!! Boys give her a huge hug for me!!!

Grandma Brown!! Happy bday today!! You’re the best!! It was such a blessing to live by you for a year before my mission!!! Our relationship grew greatly and I love you so much!! You’re in my prayers!!

I love you all so much and sounds like you had a good week with all the sports activities and such!! I hate the Patriots!! I didn’t want them to win!! Ha all we do is see it in the newspapers and what not!! Have a good next week and tell my Mom and Grandma happy birthday!!! I love you guys!!!

Elder Cammack and the old house!

January 26th, 2015 - New House

Hey everyone!! It was a good week here in Libertad 2! We are working hard and had some pretty great lessons this week!! It sounds like all was well back at home!! Love hearing that!! The mission is hard when you have a good week, but none of the investigators can go to church!! Because that’s the part that’s most important if they want to get baptized! ALL of our investigators except one had to work! It’s not a lie either!! Ha it’s ok though!! In the next couple weeks here, he will be able to be baptized!! We found some investigators that were great!! We have been teaching one that is named Marco!! He is great! He said that he said a prayer and his answer was that he needed to read the Book of Mormon!! He asked for 3 days!! hahah it was funny!! We were like... yah you can have three days... but nothing more! ;) They are a great family and improving quickly! This is the last week of the transfer so we will see if I stay!! Next week I will probably write on the Tuesday!! So don’t worry if I write on the Tuesday!! The trip to Tampico was great! We went on Monday and got back Tuesday! It was a great trip! Monday night we had pizza and Tuesday we had Burger King! It was fun! It was only this other elder that’s in my generation Elder Pastrana that went! It was good to spend time with him! He’s a great elder! I really like Tampico and am not sure why! I think it would be cool to serve there! We got back on Tuesday and went to Elder Pastrana’s area! He has a good area! He right now is comps with Elder Amador! Funny how that all worked out! We spent almost three days together and get along super well! It would be great to be his companion! I got back in my area and we worked hard! I love the members in my area! We put into practice this contacting thing, where they can share the gospel with one person a day! So we were putting it into practice and talking to one of the neighbors of one of the members and teaching her... in the middle of the lessons she said that she was a member and everything! It was funny to see the reaction of the members! I guess it’s what happens when you start talking to people about the gospel!! We are changing houses right now because our old house is terrible! The new house is great!! I will send pics of the new house next week! It’s super nice, but I probably won’t have much time in it!! This might be the last week of the transfer, but am going to work just has hard and finish it out! If I don’t leave... it will be ok, because I love this area! It’s a great area! I hope you have a great week!! May the Lord protect you in all you do!! I love you guys!! I feel like am forgetting to tell you something random, but if I remember it I will tell you next week!!! Love your guys tons! Love Ky Haapppyyyyy BBbbbbbiiiirrrrtttthhhhddaaayyyy MACKENZIE!! All that receive this wish her a Happy Birthday!!!! Love you tons!!

January 19th, 2015 - Second Hand Lions

Hey family and everyone!!

It was a great week here in Victoria!! It was a super-fast week!! It seems like the weeks are going by so fast now, and I still can’t learn Spanish!! ha I love it though and I’m learning lots!! We had a meeting with President this week to start off the New Year!! It was a super good meeting!! This might sound bad, but the mission is kinda like a business!! ha and President is our CEO! With our Heavenly Father as the Owner!!!:) That sounds weird!! ha it was good to have the meeting though! He expects a ton out of us! It’s a super good thing because it makes us be better every day!

We had a fast week but a super good weekend! We found a lot of new investigators this week which was a blessing because some of our old ones aren’t progressing!! One family is though!! I would like to tell you about them!! Their name is Familia Perez Sabala!! Super good family!! They have two old grandpas that live there!! Second Hand lions!! I know how much you love that movie dad!!! They remind me of that movie so much!! It’s so funny!! Just without all the money!! So we were teaching them this week and the kids also!! Family of 7!! So we were teaching and they just told us their desires to be baptized and how the gospel changed their lives!! It was so amazing!! They are great!! They went to church and are progressing super well!! I love them!!! While we were in church, in the class, Ephrain told the class, how the gospel has changed his life and how the missionaries are the best thing ever!! It was so amazing!! I hope that I don’t change after this change because they will probably get baptized!! I will probably change because I have three here!! Not for a couple more weeks though!! It will be good to get them prepared to be baptized though!!

We found a couple great new investigators this week!! One that looks like a future bishop! It’s kind of funny! My comp thought the same thing also!! We taught him only once, and he was like, I need to read Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price and all the stuff!! It was funny!! He wants to go to church also!! So we hope that he will go next week!! Out of our investigators he has a lot of money!! It’s weird because usually the ones with money... or a little bit of money don’t want to hear us!! Ha he does!! His name is Marco and his wife is Midea!! They are good!

I leave to Tampico today!! Hopefully my signing of the Visa goes through so I’m not illegal! :) Ha I love you guys tons!! Have an amazing next week! You are in my prayers and thoughts!

LOVE KY
